The Stats are In

So, Drew had his 6 month checkup today, and I wanted to pass along his stats. As the DR said "he's a big boy" :).

Length - 27" (75%)
Weight - 18.14lb (75%)

So, we've come a long way from 25% weight and 50% length as a 1 month old.

I still can not believe my little baby is 6 months old! We'll be planning a 1 year birthday party before we can blink! They grow up too fast :(. But, Drew is really at a fun age right now. I had been told 5-7 months is the best time, and they were not lying. He has been such a joy lately, and he just gets more and more interactive and fun everyday! Just truly amazing the difference a few weeks can make!

I'll try to post some pics soon.

Happy 6 Month Birthday!

Here are some pics from today. Note to self - don't try to take a baby to get pictures when they don't feel well :). It was slightly stressful for all involved.

So, unfortunte that the "spring scene" was so girly. My poor baby posing with bunnies and flowers. Oh well, these did end up being some of the cutest.

I'm ready for a beach and golf vacation.

Uuummm.....the bear is soft....

Ok, I've had enough Mom...

Well, we had a pretty good time today. We'll be sure next time not to take Drew to get pics when he's sleepy, hungry, and just overall doesn't feel great. And, it's also best to go when it's not a holiday, since we'll have more normal backgrounds and less bunnies, flowers, and bears :).

Big Boy

Well, tomorrow will be Drew's 6 month birthday! Just crazy that he's getting so big!! We have his 6 month pictures tomorrow, so that should be fun. I'll be sure to update the blog with pics as soon as we get them. I've had a lot of fun trying to find cute spring/summer outfits for him to wear during the photo session :). I'm just not sure how much he's going to like having outfit changes :(.

We've had a fun last few weeks. Drew is growing like crazy (over 18lbs), and now will eat almost all Stage 1 baby foods. He's still not much a fan of green beans, but peas seem to be alright. He's SO much more interactive now, just babbling up a storm. I swear he says "mama". Of course, he doesn't know that mama is me, but he does say "ma" and sometimes "mama", mostly when he is annoyed or mad. Which, this does lead me to believe that he knows exactly who "mama" is :). Tim keeps waiting to hear any signs of "dada" - none yet.

His new favorite things are sticking out his tongue and also making motor noises. He had SO much fun making little motor boat noises when my family was here visiting. Drew's had a pretty nasty little cold over the past few days, so that hasn't been much fun. But, hopefully he'll start to feel better soon. You just hate to see him so congested and not like himself :(.

We've had my family here for the past couple of weekends, so that's been nice. Drew really enjoyed getting to see some of his grandparents!

Eating is a messy business :)

This is completely gross, but also really funny. If you know me, who would have ever thought I'd find it "cute" that my baby has food all over his face. And, yes, that is also food between his eyes :). He sticks his hand in his mouth and then it's just over. Food will be in his hair, his eyes, all over his face and clothes. Oh well. He loves carrots though, so I can't complain :).

Update

Well, here are more pics of Drew. The past week or so have been quite fun. Drew has mostly been holding his own bottle when he eats - which makes it VERY nice for us in the mornings when we are trying to get ready. He still needs assistance putting his hands on the bottle, but then he is good to go. He's also gotten SO much better at eating solids. So far, we are up to rice, bananas, and carrots. Amazingly, he LOVES carrots! I can't seem to even get him fed fast enough. By the time I turn to get another spoonful, Drew's little mouth is wide open and trying to grab for the bowl Just amazing what difference a week or two can make! We plan to try squash this weekend, so we'll see how that goes :)

He still has those pretty blue eyes. I really, really hope that he keeps them. They say until about 9 months eye color can change, but I hope not! I wouldn't know what to do if Drew had brown eyes, since I'm so used to calling him "pretty blues". Please excuse the wet shirt in this picture. Drew slobbers all over everything! :)

It was very nice last weekend, so we tried to all get some fresh air and sunshine. I don't think Drew enjoyed it very much. He wasn't very fond of being hot and having a hat on his head. I could barely even get him to look up for a picture, but still I thought he was cute :). We are SO not ready for summer and having a baby. I hadn't even thought about all of the sunscreen and waterproof diapers, and everything else. Although, I can not wait to go shopping for Drew a little swimsuit!! I think that will be SO much fun and just precious!

We have a lot of family coming over the next few weeks, so that should be fun. Drew has changed so much since Christmas that I'm sure his grandparents will be amazed! We'll be sure to have many more pictures later.
