Still no Chef and other Happenings

Since our last post, we've been very busy. We unpacked many more boxes this past weekend and what did we find but more wedding presents. So, that means many more trips back to the store for returns and repurchases. We still have the mysterious random presents that none of the stores will claim as their product. Oh well. Here's a pic of Tim opening one of the many new cookware boxes.

Tim has gotten on a kick about everything needing to match. This means I must get rid of all silverware, old dishes, pots/pans, and glasses. Now that we have all of the new stuff, it must all match, or else! So, when you find 2 random knife sets as wedding presents that now match nothing, it causes a problem :). The worst part is that these aren't complete knife sets, they are just 4 steak knives in one and the other box was a single. Here's a pic of some of our new fun stuff!!

So, we will be hauling about 3-4 boxes this weekend to GoodWill full of my old stuff. Kinda sad to see it go, I must admit, but the new stuff is so much fun!!! Speaking of new stuff, we found this in our hostess silverware set - anyone know what it is?
Our best guess is a gravy spoon??

What else?? Oh, Tim's scared of spiders :). He was taking boxes up to the attic from Christmas and said he saw the biggest spider imaginable. It was then a battle between him and the spider, which the spider was winning because Tim wasn't going back up there. Of course, we had to wait until Tim's new favorite store (Ace Hardware) was open so he could buy some spray. I wish he had just wacked it with a shoe, but no, we had to get spray. Oh well, hopefully now the thing is dead. We have no proof that he died, but we know we haven't seen him in a few days, so we assume so.

Okay, so I've tried to cook a few meals since Tim's last post stating that I couldn't cook and fed him old food. I must say, I'm about to give up. I'm about 1-4 at this point on meals. The only thing that I've made that Tim liked was grilled chicken, and this because he covered it in BBQ sauce. Last night was REALLY bad!! I tried to make beef fajitas. WOW - not good. I went overboard on the seasoning and marinating and they were just awful. So, maybe I should just stick to grilled chicken - you really can't mess that up. I guess there is always take out or the old standby of Lean Cuisine, which right now both look like good options.

I guess that's about it. Just unpacking, buying new stuff, killing varmits, and trying to cook. That sums up the past few days. Talk to you later!

Tim and Brandie--

Go to Super Suppers and your life will be saved! I am a good cook, or so I am told, and I still LOVE Super Suppers! I gave Brandie the address once to the one near you. The main address is www.supersuppers.com, if you are interested. The food is great and all you do is heat it up! No one can mess that up! I am loving the blog!

Take care and good luck!

I believe the spoon is for jelly or jam. I am not sure though. The supper suppers thing is great, I hear. You really should try it. This blog is a sure fire way to get a good laugh. You two are a hoot! I never knew cooking could be so funny. I hope the spider is gone.
Love you, Mom
