We were able to make it over to TN for Thanksgiving this year to visit with Tim's family. We all had a good time, and Drew especially loved spending time with cousin Cooper!
Drew had SO much fun playing on the slide at Gees. Our arms were about to fall off from him wanting to go over and over...
With 2 kiddos, really hard to get a good picture. This was about the best that we could get.
As you may already know, Drew loves the play areas at the mall. The REALLY good thing about this mall in TN is that the play area isn't crowded. So, Drew could just play and play without me worrying that he will get ran over by a big kid. We all had fun. And, we found out that he LOVES tunnels :).

Day at the Zoo
We all went to the zoo Halloween weekend. It was our first time to take Drew to a zoo, so we had a lot of fun!
Here he is on the way there...
What's this thing?
His first time to on a "ride". He loved this ride; he just laughed and laughed.
Then we had a little time on the carousel.
Saw some animals and called it a day. Had a great time!

A Pause to Consider Others
So, this is not our typical post; however, I feel it is quite appropriate. As you know, the economy is not the best, and this is unfortunately effected my employer as well. We found out this week that our company (as many others) are having to take cost-cutting measures. Of this, we are being "forced" to take some vacation during December. While some may see this as an opportunity to spend more time relaxing with friends/family (of which I agree), others will not see this "opportunity" in such a way.
This post is about those other people.
Our company hires contractors to provide services to our facility. This involves the cleaning crews and the cafeteria crews. These groups of people found out today that if they do not have enough vacation saved to last during this shut-down period in December, that they will be forced to stay home with-out pay.
When I first heard the announcement, shamefully I must admit it didn't really sink in. It wasn't until I was standing in line in the cafeteria, waiting to pay for lunch, when I saw the lady in front of me. That's when it hit me. The look on her face spoke a million words of "how am I going to pay for my kids presents?", "how will I pay my bills?", "why at this time of the year?".
I had to fight back tears. So many people in this country work where hourly wages are imperative to their survival. Unfortunately, it is this same group of people who when the economy turns, they are the first effected. These people in my building did nothing wrong, they have come to work everyday, and now they have found out that 2 weeks of pay (during Christmas, no less) most likely will be taken from them.
I just ask that as we enter into this holiday season that we remember that a lot of people out there are not wondering "should I buy this toy or that", "should I go do this or that". These people are just praying that they can pay their bills and maybe still have enough to buy their babies at least one gift.

Drew Walking!
I've attached a video from this past weekend of Drew walking. He just started this past week, and he still needs TONS of prodding before he'll walk. Of course, he'll only take a couple of steps each time before falling. Oh well. At least he's making progress!

Fun with Birthday Toys
Once we got home from our travels in September, Drew had SO much fun getting to play with all of his new bday toys! You have to watch this video of him on the right. He LOVES playing with this toy, but I think most of all, he just likes the hammer. He goes around and "hammers" everything. Also in the video, you can see his mad ball throwing skills. Future pitcher anyone?? :)
I love my new ride!
When I get tired of playing with my toys, there is always the cabinets. I'm quite the inquisitive little one...which also means I get into trouble often.
Just too cute.
I like to read my books!
We get a lot of looks like this one. Drew points at something and says "dat"? He's very curious. He's constantly asking questions - "what's that" or in Drew language - "dat"?
After a hard day of playing, I need a nap. He loves his puppy and, of course, his thumb.
